Use grease instead of oil in gear boxes to prevent contamination with oil

Maintain proper overlap setting and ensure periodical grooving of leather roller to avoid seed cut and fibre breakage.

Remove metal wires, bolts, machine parts, leather pieces, spilt oil etc. to prevent their entry into seed cotton/lint.

Before feeding to baling press once again ensure that on extraneous matter gets in to the lint

Use new iron straps of 18- 19 gauge and 12.5 mm width for fastening cotton bales

Use quick drying good quality ink to print specification on bale cover printed label made of cotton or plastic steel is preferable

To store cotton bales in a covered godown to avert their exposure to wind , rain, dust etc.
